In October 2023 in Metro City there will be year on year (yoy) inflation of 2.93 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.66. Inflation The highest yoy occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 5.43 percent of the CPI

amounted to 120.87 and the lowest occurred in Jayapura City at 1.43 percent with a CPI of 112.88.

                    Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 8.78 percent; clothing and footwear group at 1.34 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.80 percent; health group at 1.13 percent; transportation group at 1.84 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.21 percent; education group at 1.98 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.14 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 0.54 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel groups by 1.79 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.85 percent.
